This issue features articles about three little-known Canadian FDC cachet makers, two from the west coast and one from the east coast. John Van der Ven’s article presents the cachets of D.S. Rose, a Vancouver resident who distributed a small number of visually pleasing FDCs in 1958 and some plain ones in 1970-71. Gary Dickinson reviews the colourful cachets published by Curling, Newfoundland’s Barrett’s Print Shop in the period from 1943 to 1949. Finally, Bob Vogel presents the FDCs produced by Victoria’s Lester Small over a 35 year span beginning in 1946. All of these covers are relatively little known and not widely available.
