PREFACE

This is the first monograph in a series of six dealing with the First Day Covers of the commemorative stamps issued by Canada from 1947 to 1949. Several collectors have contributed to an updated version of this monograph since the first edition was published in November, 2006. Further contributions would be welcomed and will result in ongoing improvements to this record of FDC's for the 1948 issue commemorating the Royal Wedding.

Several collectors were especially helpful in the preparation of this second edition. Most notably, scans, photocopies, and comments were received from George Basher, Ivan Croteau, Harold Houston, and Bruce Perkins. I would also like to express my appreciation and thanks to Stephen Prest for his encouragement, support, and assistance from conception to fruition of this project as well as my series of articles on FDCs he has edited for the King George VI Post and Mail.
